Funerals

I am the resurrection and the Life', says the Lord (John 11.25)

If someone you know and love has died, whether they were a churchgoer or not, we can hold a Church of England funeral for them in one of our churches or churchyards, by a graveside, or at a crematorium.

Once you have been put in touch with a minister, they will be there to support you every step of the way. They will come and visit you to listen to the story of the person you knew, and they will go through all the details of the funeral service itself. After the funeral, you can call on them for any pastoral care you might need in your grieving process.

You can start arranging your funeral with a local funeral director, who will then contact us, or you can get straight in touch with us at the Deanery Office on 01507 610 247, especially if there is a particular clergy person or church you want to know is available.
